“Simple Pledges – Building Blocks for Healthy Living As host of Iowa’s only Speaking of Women’s Health event, Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare applauds the generosity of National and Local sponsors. Thank you to the hundreds of women from across the states that have shown an interest in the mission of Speaking of Women’s Health. The following pictures are a snapshot of the September 2006 event.  Anticipation…Another sell-out event! The positive word of mouth surrounding this important woman’s health initiative results in women arriving earlier each year. Fabulous gift bags and a fun day await. 


Fantastic volunteers. The event requires more than 150 volunteers …thank you to all those who offered their time and talents. 

The event offered free heart, bone, diabetes, skin screenings and more. Interactive beauty consultations and chair massage were also a hit. 

The Four Pledges provided the “edutainment” and brought women to their feet as women across the country learn --- and have fun, too!

Throughout the day, guests are treated to a great experiences in an environment of beauty and pampering. Women are surrounded with vibrant décor to enhance their spirit and health.

Speaking of Women’s Health is about honoring women who are making a difference. Honorary co-chair Dr. Cassandra Foens with the 2006 honoree Deborah Berry. An emotional video was presented during the luncheon highlighting her commitment to area youth. 
Dr. Robin Smith, provided attendees with inspiration and thought provoking information to help achieve a balanced life and minimize negativity. 
Women committed themselves to make a simple pledge to maintain a healthier lifestyle by signing the “Take a Pledge,” banner.
